Renewal of Community & Faith-Based Initiatives

APA supports the renewal of faith-based and community initiatives. Many of our nations worst social problems will never be solved until the hearts of parents are turned back to their children, until respect is restored for human life and property and until a commitment is renewed to care about our neighbor. Government cannot reach this deep into character. But there are people and institutions -- families, churches, private charities, grassroots community organizations -- that are able to communicate these ideals and restore individual hope. They do not just feed and house the body, they touch the soul. They have the power to transform individuals and the power to renew our society.
