Ten Ways To Be A Better Dad
According
to a recent Gallup Poll, 80 percent of Americans felt "the
most significant family or social problem facing America is the
physical absence
of the father from the home." Approximately 1 out of every 4
Arizona children is growing up without the benefit of a father.
The vast majority of these children are as a result of divorce and the fastest growing segment of this
population is due to non-married births. The rate
at which fathers as absent from their children's lives is growing
as such a rate as to reach crisis proportions. And it is increasingly
apparent that many of the most serious problems facing children
today can be almost directly traced to a father's absence.

Our goal to
help counter the growing problem of fatherlessness by stimulating a
broad-based social movement to restore responsible fatherhood as a
state priority.
First, we seek to pursue a public education campaign highlighting
the importance of fathers to the well-being of children and
communities and to raise the awareness of every Arizonan that
fathers make a unique and irreplaceable contribution to the lives of
children, and that collectively we need to encourage and support men
to good and responsible fathers.
Second, we seek to partner with local civic organizations and faith
communities to
stimulate local voluntary efforts towards father-friendly community
building and to both individually and collectively engage fathers.
We hope that you will join our efforts
to strengthen Arizona's families.
